This women's gilet embodies the charm of a tradition that lasts thousands of years, the fabric is a very precious silk produced with the ikat method, a very long processing technique that involves different phases and different hands. In fact, Ikat is a method of producing fabrics in which the motif is created before weaving through the resistive dyeing process of the yarns. It is a process originating in East Asia but brought to Central Asia, Uzbekistan is the largest producer, thanks to the markets that used to travel along the silk road. The procedure foresees that the fabric is dyed in the warp, ie the longitudinal thread is worked to create the pattern that gives brightness to the fabric, typical of ikat. It starts from the use of very few natural colors with which the craftsmen can however create an unlimited number of motif combinations. The inside is in raw cotton matching the predominant color of the pattern.
